Robert Burns Supper Memories

The Alaskan Scottish Club celebrated the Life of Robert Burns, the Baird Scotland, on Saturday, January 17th, 2009. There was a no-host bar, then a performance by Crow Creek Pipes & Drums. Our highland dancer of the evening was Fiona Ensley. Father Elliott delivered the Selkirk Grace and David Teague presented the Address to the Haggis with true flair.

We started dinner with a taste of haggis followed by cock-a-leekie soup. Dinner was either prime rib, salmon or haggis with tatties & neeps, carrots and a fantastic berry trifle for dessert.

After dinner we viewed the video- Robert Burns Live. The Alaskan Scottish Club Board members provided the toasts to the Lads & Lassies.

The Alaskan Scottish Club Scot of the Year – 2008 is Kris Duncan. Kris has been valued member of the club for many years. She attends and supports all events, she has been an ASC board member. Kris has coordinated many aspects of the Alaska Scottish Highland Games, presently Kris and her husband Ken donates the prizes for the athletics. Kris is also the co-chair for piping & drumming. Thank your for all of support Kris!
